Point Lonsdale SLSC - New lifesaving facility

54 Ocean Road, Point Lonsdale, 3225

In the 2017-18 and 2018-19 State Budget, as well as via the Community Support Fund in 2015-16, the Victorian Government allocated $2.2 million for the construction of the new Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) facility.

Situated in the local government area of Queenscliff, the Point Lonsdale SLSC plays an important role in the safety of swimmers and beachgoers, and the new clubhouse will ensure lifesavers have the facilities they need to respond to incidents and keep people safe in the water.

This new fit-for-purpose facility will reflect the commitment and dedication of club volunteers to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.

The new clubhouse will enable the club to expand and upgrade their facilities, catering for increased training and education programs and providing opportunities for other community groups to utilise the new space.

Point Lonsdale SLSC has undertaken considerable consultation with the local council, affected parties and the local community, to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing local community, now and into the future.
