AVCG Lake Eppalock - New engine replacement

Randell's Cove, Lake Eppalock, 3523

In the 2017-18 State Budget, the Victorian Government allocated $30,000 for a new engine upgrade for Lake Eppalock Volunteer Coast Guard's (AVCG Lake Eppalock) Polycraft search-and-rescue vessel.

Situated in the local government area of Greater Bendigo, AVCG Lake Eppalock plays an important role in the safety of water users in the local area, by responding to marine emergencies and raising community awareness about marine safety.

AVCG Lake Eppalock received a new Suzuki (60 h/p) for its Polycraft vessel, which is now in use.

The engine upgrade will ensure the search-and-rescue vessel meets commercial standards, enabling the committed and dedicated volunteers to continue to service their local community and assist other emergency services agencies.

The Marine Search and Rescue office within Emergency Management Victoria is in regular communication with AVCG Lake Eppalock to ensure volunteers are provided with the vessels and equipment they need to keep their local community safe on the water.
