AVCG Port Albert - New engine replacement
65 Bay Street, Port Albert, 3971
In the 2017-18 State Budget, the Victorian State Government allocated $60,000 for new engine upgrades for Port Albert Volunteer Coast Guard's (AVCG Port Albert) Noosa Cat search-and-rescue vessel.
Situated in the local government area of Wellington Shire, AVCG Port Albert plays an important role in the safety of water users in the local area, by responding to marine emergencies and raising community awareness about marine safety.
AVCG Port Albert received two new Suzuki engines (325h/p) for its Noosa Cat vessel, which are now in use.
The engine upgrades will ensure the search-and-rescue vessel meets commercial standards, enabling the committed and dedicated volunteers to continue to service their local community and assist other emergency service agencies.
The Marine Search and Rescue office within Emergency Management Victoria is in regular communication with AVCG Port Albert to ensure volunteers are provided with the vessels and equipment they need to keep their local community safe on the water.
