AVCG Safety Beach - New engine replacement

Foreshore Marine Parade, Safety Beach, 3936

In the 2017-18 State Budget, the Victorian Government allocated $70,000 for new engine upgrades for Safety Beach Volunteer Coast Guard's (AVCG Safety Beach) CG6 search-and-rescue vessel.

Situated in the local government area of Bass Coast Shire, AVCG Safety Beach plays an important role in the safety of water users in the local area, by responding to marine emergencies and raising community awareness about marine safety.

AVCG Safety Beach received two new Suzuki engines (300h/p) for its CG6 vessel, which are now in use.

These engine upgrades will ensure the search-and-rescue vessel meets commercial standards, enabling the committed and dedicated volunteers to continue to service their local community and assist other emergency service agencies.

The Marine Search and Rescue office within Emergency Management Victoria is in regular communication with AVCG Safety Beach to ensure volunteers are provided with the vessels and equipment they need to keep their local community safe on the water.
