VMR Mornington - New engine replacement
792 The Esplanade, Mornington, 3931
In the 2017-18 State Budget, the Victorian Government allocated $40,000 for new engine upgrades for Volunteer Marine Rescue Mornington's (VMR Mornington) Noosa Cat search-and-rescue vessel.
Situated in the local government area of Mornington Peninsula Shire, VMR Mornington plays an important role in the safety of water users in the local area, by responding to marine emergencies and raising community awareness about marine safety.
VMR Mornington received two new Yamaha engines (200h/p) for its Noosa Cat vessel, which are now in use.
The engine upgrades will ensure the search-and-rescue vessel meets commercial standards, enabling the committed and dedicated volunteers to continue to service their local community and assist other emergency service agencies.
The Marine Search and Rescue office within Emergency Management Victoria is in regular communication with VMR Mornington to ensure volunteers are provided with the vessels and equipment they need to keep their local community safe on the water.
