VICSES Broadmeadows Unit - Relocation of unit
New site TBC
In the 2017-18 State Budget, the Victorian Government allocated $2.8 million for the relocation of the Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) Broadmeadows Unit from Mahoneys Road, Campbellfield, to a new location to be determined.
VICSES Broadmeadows volunteers are among the most active in Victoria, responding to an average of 540 requests for assistance over the past five years.
Situated in the local government area of Hume, population growth is predicted to increase by 64 per cent by 2030, placing increased pressure on the Broadmeadows Unit and surrounding units to respond effectively to the local community and continue to assist Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and fire services throughout the state.
The new fit-for-purpose facility will reflect VICSES' commitment and dedication to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.
In collaboration with the Emergency Services Infrastructure Authority, VICSES is undertaking considerable consultation with the Broadmeadows Unit, as well as the local council, affected parties and the local community (as required), to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing community, now and into the future.
