VICSES Chelsea Unit - Relocation of unit

New site TBC

In the 2017-18 and 2019-20 State Budgets, the Victorian Government allocated $7 million for the relocation of the Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) Chelsea Unit from Scotch Parade, Bonbeach, to a new location to be determined.

The VICSES Chelsea Unit responded to more than 220 requests for assistance in 2018-19 and is responsible for two thirds of the Kingston local government area.

The new site will enable the VICSES Chelsea Unit to continue to respond effectively to the local community and assist Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and fire services throughout the state.

The new fit-for-purpose facility will reflect VICSES' commitment and dedication to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.

In collaboration with the Emergency Services Infrastructure Authority, VICSES will undertake considerable consultation with the VICSES Chelsea Unit, as well as the local council, affected parties and the local community (as required), to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing community, now and into the future.
