VICSES Clyde Unit - Land acquisition
In the 2017-18 State Budget, via the Growth Areas Infrastructure Contribution Fund, the Victorian Government allocated $12 million for the acquisition of land for six new Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) units, including a new location in Clyde.
Situated in the local government area of Casey, population growth is predicted to increase by 63 per cent by 2030, placing increased pressure on local VICSES units to respond effectively to the local community and continue to assist Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and fire services throughout the state.
The new fit-for-purpose facility will reflect VICSES' commitment and dedication to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.
In collaboration with the Emergency Services Infrastructure Authority, VICSES will undertake considerable consultation with surrounding units, as well as the local council, affected parties and the local community (as required), to ensure that the new location meets the needs of a growing community, now and into the future.
