VICSES Corio Unit - Refurbishment of unit

299 Anakie Road, Lovely Banks, 3221

In the 2017-18 State Budget, the Victorian Government allocated $1.6 million for the refurbishment of the Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) Corio Unit at Anakie Road, Lovely Banks.

The Corio Unit responded to more than 180 requests for assistance in 2018-19 and is one of four VICSES units in the City of Greater Geelong.

The refurbished facility will enable the VICSES Corio Unit to continue to respond effectively to the local community and assist Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and fire services throughout the state.

The new fit-for-purpose facility will reflect VICSES' commitment and dedication to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.

In collaboration with the Emergency Services Infrastructure Authority, VICSES will undertake considerable consultation with the VICSES Corio Unit, as well as the local council, affected parties and the local community (as required), to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing community, now and into the future.
