VICSES Emerald Unit - Relocation of unit
277-287 Belgrave-Gembrook Road, Emerald, 3782
In the 2017-18 State Budget, the Victorian Government allocated $1.8 million for the relocation of the Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) Emerald Unit from Old Gembrook Road to 277-287 Belgrave-Gembrook Road, Emerald.
VICSES Emerald volunteers are among the most active in Victoria, responding to more than 850 requests for assistance in 2018-19.
Situated in the local government area of Cardinia, population growth is predicted to increase by 108 per cent by 2030, placing increased pressure on the Emerald Unit and surrounding units to respond effectively to the local community and continue to assist Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and fire services throughout the state.
The new fit-for-purpose facility will reflect VICSES' commitment and dedication to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.
In collaboration with the Emergency Services Infrastructure Authority, VICSES has undertaken considerable consultation with the VICSES Emerald Unit, as well as the local council, affected parties and the local community, to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing community, now and into the future.Latest news
