VICSES Wonthaggi Unit - Relocation of unit
89 White Road, Wonthaggi, 3995
In the 2018-19 State Budget, the Victorian Government allocated $2.0 million for the acquisition of land for the Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) Wonthaggi Unit to enable the unit to relocate to 89 White Road, Wonthaggi.
The VICSES Wonthaggi Unit, which comprises 16 active members, responded to more than 100 requests for assistance in 2018-19.
Situated in the local government area of Bass Coast, the new site will enable the Wonthaggi Unit and surrounding units to continue to respond effectively to the local community and assist Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and fire services throughout the state.
The new fit-for-purpose facility will reflect VICSES' commitment and dedication to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.
In collaboration with the Emergency Services Infrastructure Authority, VICSES will undertake considerable consultation with the VICSES Wonthaggi Unit, as well as the local council, affected parties and the local community (as required), to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing community, now and into the future.Read press release
