VICSES Northcote Unit - Relocation of unit
102 Altona Street and 446 Waterdale Road, Heidelberg Heights, 3081
In the 2017-18 State Budget, the Victorian Government allocated $3.0 million for the relocation of the Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) Northcote Unit from Wingrove Street, Alphington to 102 Altona Street, Heidelberg Heights and the adjoining property at 446 Waterdale Road.
VICSES Northcote volunteers are among the most active in Victoria, responding to more than 600 requests for assistance in 2018-19.
Situated in the local government area of Banyule, the new site will enable the Northcote Unit to continue to respond effectively to the local community and assist Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and fire services throughout the state.
The new fit-for-purpose facility will reflect VICSES' commitment and dedication to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.
In collaboration with the Emergency Services Infrastructure Authority, VICSES is undertaking considerable consultation with the VICSES Northcote Unit, as well as the local council, affected parties and the local community (as required), to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing community, now and into the future.
