AVCG Werribee - New engine replacement
Corner Beach Road and O'Connors Road, Werribee South, 3030
In the 2017-18 State Budget, the Victorian Government allocated $60,000 for engine upgrades for the Werribee Volunteer Coast Guard (AVCG Werribee).
Situated in the local government area of Wyndham, AVCG Werribee plays an important role in the safety of water users in the local area, by responding to marine emergencies and raising community awareness about marine safety.
AVCG Werribee received two new Suzuki engines (200h/p) for its CG10 vessel, which are now in use.
The new engine upgrades will ensure the search-and-rescue vessel meets commercial standards, enabling the committed and dedicated volunteers to continue to service their local community and assist other emergency service agencies.
The Marine Search and Rescue office within Emergency Management Victoria, is in regular communication with AVCG Werribee to ensure volunteers are provided with the vessels and equipment they need to keep their local communities safe on the water.
